Like water off a duck's back...
why not off a shark's stomach? a fish's scales? or a flamingo's beak?
I'm struggling dude...this has been my biggest struggle in med school...these things just dont make any sense! Since when is a duck's back smooth enough to create a proverb from it?

lol, no silly, you fail this MSE! just kidding.
but it's not that a duck's back is smooth, it's because its feathers are oily and water slides off of it in droplets, because water and oil don't mix... and sharks and fish are already underwater, so wouldn't really work with them.
i'm on psych right now and write multiple MSEs every day... so I know these things. :)
ps. nice website by the way. i should blog... too bad i'm too lazy.
